On the afternoon of September 20, 2015, at the State Theater on Main Street in Point Pleasant, West Virginia, Sharon Shull, a neice to the late Mary Hyre, a reporter for The Athens Messenger, who covered the UFO and Mothman wave in her newspaper column "Where the Waters Mingle," described her memories of her aunt. She described also how her aunt claimed to have had visits from MIBs and worked closely with New York author John Keel. Former neighbor and best friend Dottie Campbell also shared her memories regarding Mary too.
