Family Frighted by Huge Bat-like Creature Encounter in Puerto Rico

The witness, Kelly Miller Martinez, along with her children, and sister had gone to visit Mrs. Martinez’s ranch. Upon arriving Martinez exited the vehicle and went to open the gate to access the property. As she opened the gate, she noticed something like “a large black bird” flying across from her at a certain undetermined distance. She described the flight of the creature as “heavy” and noticed that it was large. She then alerted her sister to the presence of the strange bird. They walked on until they arrived at the ranch house. She then told her older son, Tito, to empty the garbage. He went to get a small cart located by the gate and went back to the house when he suddenly screamed, “Mom! The bird is here; is big and ugly!”
What until that moment they thought had only been a large bird was now standing in the middle of a nearby hill. When Mrs. Martinez looked, she described seeing a creature about 3 to 4 meters tall, dark in color, and in some ways resembling a huge bat, covering its whole body with its large wings. She couldn’t see its legs. Only the head seemed to be moving around.
Mrs. Martinez was very frightened, since there were neighbors in the area, and she had no idea what she was facing. They all went back inside the house and after a while, her 16-year-old daughter shone a flashlight on the nearby path, and suddenly the strange flying humanoid flew down from the hill and landed on the roof of the house, perching itself on top of the eaves. At this point, the family became hysterical, screaming and closing the windows. And could now hear the creature walking on the roof, making scratching noises as if it had large, clawed feet.
In a panic they called the local police on their cellphone. At this point the creature flew on top of a nearby trailer on their property. Soon about 5 to 6 police vehicles arrived. The officers realized how frightened the family was and told them that they believed them since sometime before another woman had reported seeing something similar. Mrs. Martinez additionally described the creature as huge, black in color, with huge wings and no tail. She also added that the creature’s eyes were glowing red in color, but the facial features could not be distinguished due to the darkness. At times the creature would cover its entire body with its huge wings. However, despite the police support, the officers refused to write a report of the incident.
