An Interview with Donald A. Johnson

by: Brent Raynes

An interview with Donald A. Johnson, Ph.D., a counseling psychologist and organizational consultant who maintains a computer database called UFOCAT and the author of The UFOCAT User's Guide (2003) published by CUFOS (Center for UFO Studies). He is an avid student of cultural and biological anthropology, behavioral genetics, and the evolutionary history of human beings. His interest in UFOs began back in 1966 during the Michigan "swamp gas" UFO wave. AP’s editor Brent Raynes first became acquainted with Donald back in 1969 and 1970, during both of their teenage years, when Donald was editor of Flying Saucer Observer and lived in Connecticut. He's lived and taught in Bangkok, Thailand now since 2003. Dr. David Saunders was his mentor in psychology and UFO research, whom he first met in 1971. Dr. Saunders was fired from the Condon Committee in the 1960s for disagreeing with their dismissal of the reality of the UFO phenomenon and was the co-author of UFOs? Yes! Where the Condon Committee Went Wrong.
