Our Recent Shift in Consciousness

by: L. R. Sumpter

December 21, 2012 came and went without all of the dramatic events that were predicted. However, plenty of dramatic events have been taking place for the last 200 years or so that clearly indicate that we have entered a new world. Up until the time of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, humanity in general was accustomed to living with kings, queens, princes and princesses. That was the case for thousands of years back to the Queen of Sheba and King Solomon and ancient pharaohs. Since 1788, when the US Constitution was ratified, there have been more and more states in the world ruled by democratically elected assemblies. In 1844, about 56 years after that document was signed, it became possible to communicate instantly with someone hundreds or thousands of miles away by telegraph. By just 100 years after the Declaration of Independence, the human voice and black and white images could be transmitted over the wires. 35 years later the wires were dropped and 25 years later, in 1926, the first transatlantic television transmission occurred. Suddenly, in less than 150 years a new form of government has appeared on the Earth and time and space have been overcome as far as human communication is concerned.

Likewise when it came to actually transporting humans and their cargo across the face of the Earth, that too was irrevocably altered around the early 1800’s. That is when steam locomotives were put on wooden rails. 65 years later, in 1869, steel rails allowed steam engines to pull passengers and cargo from one shore of North America to the other. Steam engines were followed by gas engines ten years later, then by Diesel in another 20 years, then by jet engines in 28 more years. Of course, these engines were used to power automobiles and airplanes that replaced pedestrian and equine transportation methods of previous millennia. Between 1775 and 1810, a 35-year period, it is estimated that around 300,000 people walked or rode horses through Cumberland Gap in search of a new life in the blue grass region of Kentucky. Just 160 years later, a few of their ancestors walked on the moon while the entire world watched on television. This is an abrupt shift in consciousness, and it all happened well before December 21, 2012.

As for the personal effects of this shift in consciousness beyond its effects on our lives in the material world; we now practice remote healing; we are in communication with the world of spirit; and we record our near death experiences and past and future life regressions and progressions. We can do remote viewing and other out-of-body activities. We practice and expand our intuitive abilities. We are aware of our telepathic abilities with each other and with animals.

A five-year-old child today can talk to someone on the other side of the world instantly. The internet makes the whole world available at the touch of a key. Sexual and racial equality are the law of the land. Slavery is abolished. We have the most educated populace ever. We split atoms, generate electricity and make never-before-seen materials for our use. We can perform miraculous medical feats so that we have extended our life expectancy by 50 years. We can go shopping and choose among goods that have been brought to us from the four corners of the world. Maybe nothing happened on December 21, 2012, but a great deal has happened in the last 200 years or so, and we have hardly noticed.
