That's right, I wrote the Foreword to this volume and I'm doing this book review as well and I make no apologies for doing both. I'm a true blue Mainiac (that is, I was born and raised in the Vacationland state, became a teenaged "ufologist" there at age 14 way back in 1967, and reading through Nomar's wonderful book brings back many fond and old memories, while flooding my mind with many, many exciting new stories and insights to further ponder).

As I wrote in the Foreword, " I am deeply honored to have been asked by him to write this Foreword, and to re-read the stories of the David and Glen Gray high-strange alien abduction case from Norway and Oxford, Maine, the hypnotist Dr. Herbert Hopkins alleged MIB visitation, and my involvement also in the Frances Swan contactee case from Eliot, Maine, that even got the attention of the CIA back in the 1950s."

"I thoroughly enjoy and value Nomar's thoughts and what his own ongoing research and investigative efforts have further gleaned on these and many other intriguing and enigmatic Maine accounts. It belongs on every ufologist's bookshelf."

And whether you're a ufologist or not, whether you're a current or former resident of Maine, or have never ever stepped foot there, if the subject of UFOs is something that genuinely interests you, then this book has the kind of thought-provoking accounts, many collected firsthand by the author, that should mesmerize and draw you completely into its pages.

UFOs Over Maine: Close Encounters from the Pine Tree State first came out back in 2014. It was certainly a great contribution to ufology at the time, and now this tenth anniversary edition adds exciting new cases and updated materials and insights. Nomar has also authored other books, including Otherworldly Encounters: Evidence of UFO Sightings and Abductions (2018), Otherworldly Amor (2019), also available as a DVD documentary, A Disconcerted Journey Through the Unknown (2020), and A Strange Trilogy (2021).

An ordained minister for over forty years with a master's in theology from Andover Newton Theological School, Jim Willis takes us on a comprehensive and fascinating search for answers regarding the much talked about and controversial phenomenon of near-death experiences (NDEs). He presents an exhaustive review of the unique testimonial evidence from NDE experiencers, what medical doctors, NDE researchers, and others have to say on the subject, along with ancient religious texts that touch upon such accounts and what they describe.

If you've never read a book on the subject before, you'll certainly be in very capable hands with this author's introduction to this very intriguing, complex, and thought-provoking subject matter. And, even if you have read some on this subject previously, this is a great refresher with the latest updates and studies detailed on the NDE subject.

Jim Willis has quite a few books under his belt already. Among them Lost Civilizations: The Secret Histories and Suppressed Technologies of the Ancients, The Religion Book: Places, Prophets, Saints, and Seers, and Supernatural Gods: Spiritual Mysteries, Psychic Experiences, and Scientific Truths. Too many to list here. I've previously reviewed in this magazine Supernatural Gods (August 2017) and did an audio interview with Jim Willis (September 2017), and I have found him to be a reliable and trustworthy author.
