Two Canadian men experience a strange and disturbing road trip
By: Albert S. Rosales

Location: between Winnipeg & The Pas, Manitoba, Canada
Date: Summer 2020
Time: night
The main witness and a friend had gone to Winnipeg for the night. The journey to Winnipeg was normal and took them 6 hours as usual. He’d done this trip numerous times, as The Pas is his hometown which he’d recently moved back to from Winnipeg.
On the way back the first 3 ½ hours went by normally. He was driving at the speed limit most of the time as it was icy and snowing. So, they came up to the turn-off (where Highway 6 turns off onto 60) at about 4 pm. At this point the conditions were ideal, and the sun was just about at the horizon. It was a beautiful sky with a crimson sun. This is where things got strange. The first odd incident happened about 20 minutes onto this highway. A red van overtook them right before a right turn and rounded a sharp bend. When they came around the bend the van had vanished, and it was a long straight highway for a bit. He thought this was weird, but he didn’t pay any attention to it, nor did he mention it to his friend. Shortly after this, he made a comment about how gorgeous the sky was. By this time, the sun was just cresting the horizon at about 11 o’clock angle. It was about 4:45 pm, so they’d been on the highway for 45 minutes. This highway takes about an hour until you get to the next turn-off, which is 10 (the final turn-off enroute to The Pas). They drove for the next 20 minutes without words, just the radio playing. Then his friend made the comment, “Have you noticed there hasn’t been any road signage?” He didn’t realize it but, there were no signs indicating when a turn was coming up, nor were there any signs in regard to how far they were from towns in kilometers. No signs whatsoever.
At this point, the main witness noticed the sun hadn’t moved an inch in the sky. On top of this, they hadn’t seen any other vehicles in a while. He thought this was strange, and so did his friend. Unnerved he sped up going between 120-140 kph. He started having this overwhelming feeling that something was wrong. Then he noticed another anomaly among the other glaring things that were already making this experience really ‘messed up.’ All the trees were the same height, and the tree line was extremely dense, like a wall of trees. This was scary because he then realized this scenery was not at all what it should be. Where they were should have been a sparse tree line with small ponds and marshland on both sides of the highway.
They’d been on this highway for 2 hours now, the sun still hadn’t moved, still no road signs, no traffic and they’re not where they should be. The main witness and his friend were stuck on this highway, and they started to get scared, trying to piece together and figure out what was happening. He’d known his friend his whole life and this experience is undeniably their most terrifying. Out of nowhere, the sun set unnaturally fast, which takes maybe 2 minutes, and they were enveloped in this darkness of a starless night without a moon. Both witnesses were scared. The two 25-year-old men were pretty well shaken, and just when this ominous, oppressive feeling was unbearable, they came to the turn-off, out of nowhere. Three hours they had been stuck on that highway that takes barely over an hour to travel. But it didn’t end there.
Just when they thought they were returning to normality, he glanced in the rearview mirror because he thought for the first time in three hours he’d seen headlights. He was wrong. In the back seat sitting behind him on the driver’s side was a black human silhouette with glowing yellow eyes. Both witnesses saw the strange figure. He couldn’t believe what they were experiencing. The next hour and a half were terrifying and mostly set in silence. They finally pulled into The Pas shortly before midnight. They were stuck for two and a half hours in some sort of limbo with unreal anomalies that made no sense and were totally conscious and aware the whole-time making note of the time. To top it off when they pulled into The Pas, he noticed that their gas tank level had barely moved. They were totally lost for an explanation of what happened.
