A securities litigation attorney and a magna cum laude graduate of Princeton University all sounds like the makings of a very mainstream, albeit solid and professional background and reputation. However, some know this author also as “The Skeptical Psychic,” a woman who has been trained as a psychic detective, a remote viewer, and has done workshops on developing psychic and mediumistic abilities, and thus is someone who doesn’t seem overly concerned with fitting in with everyone. And now, in this provocative book How to Talk to an Alien, Nancy Du Tertre raises the bar, essentially says to heck with mainstream opinion, and thinks way outside the box of conventional reasoning and logic to explore and attempt to explain documented case histories of men and women from around the globe who claim to have not only observed mysterious, often humanoid, otherworldly life forms, but also allege to have experienced instances of apparent communications with these beings.
If true, then SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) is way off its game and needs to befriend a few seasoned ufologists (and this books author) to play catch up to these very curious, anomalous accounts.
The author thoughtfully sifts through and presents numerous case details to make her case. Not only are modern alien abduction and encounter reports carefully examined wherein the communications aspect emerges, both what we’d call telepathic and verbal, as well as electronic (i.e., phones, computers, tape recorders, and radio), but also possible historical clues like how the Book of Enoch was written in Geez, an ancient Ethiopian language, the 15th century Swiss German physician, alchemist, and occultist Paracelsus’s “Angelic Language” (similar to Geez), the “angelic” or “Enochian” language described by John Dee back in the 16th century, and how these ancient written languages and others compare similarly with modern alien scripts that have been reported.
A fascinating and thought-provoking book.
