What was it?

By Albert S. Rosales

Location: Steamboat, British Columbia, Canada
Date: summer 2021
Time: night

The witness had been nursing in remote northern communities in British Columbia since 2020. Travel was involved in his work. In the summer of 2021, he took an assignment in Fort Nelson. He decided to borrow the staff vehicle from the hospital he was working at and used his one day off to travel up to the Liard River. It takes about 5 hours to get there from Fort Nelson. He took in the scenery on his drive up, admiring the sheer remote and rugged nature of the land.

He was on his way back home and close to the 529km mark on the Alaska Highway when all of a sudden, some sort of a feeling came over him for reasons unknown. He began to slow the car down. He was going quite slowly when he saw something on all fours on the right-hand side of the road. It was about 100 feet away and at this point it was moving towards the road, coming out of the bush very quickly on the tips of its fingers and toes.

Then it stopped at the edge of the highway. At this time, he had come to a full diagonal stop in the oncoming lane. The creature was now about 20 feet away. It got up on two legs and appeared to be somewhere around 9, maybe 10 feet tall. It was covered in matted gray/brown hair that looked like dreadlocks. It had a solid muscular build, and it walked in a very strange manner that was hard for the witness to describe. It crossed the paved part of the part of the highway in four strides. It did not look directly at the witness but was very aware of his presence as he felt it inside his mind as it walked in front of the car.

The witness was completely frozen. Here is the wildest part. All parts of this creature were partially transparent. These parts would fade from visible to transparent over its entire body as it crossed the road. The transparent parts of the creature appeared blurry or almost made of water if that makes sense. It was the strangest thing he’d ever seen in his life. He watched it dash under the trees on the other side of the road and after a while, he collected himself and drove the remaining 75km back to Fort Nelson.
